Very Comfortable and Warm.
Thin black laces on black boots very difficult to tie up. Changed to thicker yellow laces and that problem was solved.
I did fall when I first moved onto a road which turned out to have a thin layer of snow on a very sleek layer of ice. I saw 2 ladys also fall on the same walk. Although I did slide a couple of times, I maintained balance and did not fall again. Nor have I fallen or slid on several walks since then.

Caution on roads with a thin layer of snow!

Merrell

Very well made boot, but the arch is very high and was in the wrong place for my feet. The non-slip anti ice sole was definitely not effective for walking on icy roads in Manitoba and did not work better than regular boots, contrary to description.

How boots function

Absolutely love these boots. I tried Pajar and keen after my first merrells died.  Disappointed with both I went back to Merrell and I love these thermo freeze winter boots. Comfy warm and great traction.

Tried other boots, came back to merrell

In spite of ordering a half size larger than I normally wear the boots were very snug and the right boot was uncomfortable so I returned them. I have gad 2 pairs of Merrel boots before and they were fine and were very comfortable and durable.

Too small

First I must say that I love Merrell product. But this one J42609 is the worst winter boots I ever bought. They are warm (400 gr) but the reason I bought it is for the Arctic grip that was supposed to be the best on ice! I love walking even in winter and I am very careful when walking on ice, but with these boots, careful is not enough. In fact any boots with Arctic Grip. As soon you walk on ice with these boots your in trouble. I felt 4 times and hurt myself badly even being very careful. This type of sole shouldn't be on the market. Don't buy…

ARTIC GRIP DOESN'T WORK

Nice comfortable boot,  great ,well made, it seems to fit about 1/2 size small, the Vibram sole still does slip on ice.

Good Boot

This is my second pair of Merrell's and they just as good if not better than the first.  Highly recommended.

Excellent winter boot

Ok so these boots was a test for me...well 5 stars!!! Little tight so if you are normaly w sizing dont go on medium..wait to get w in stock...

These boot are excellent grip the ice and snow real well and the sizing is great.

Great boots!

This boot has great traction on the sole , but it's a useless boot for winter due to the ankle height , and has no ankle support. Also the tongue does not reach all the way to top of the boot , so even a small puddle or snow will get in then wet socks for the day , this should be classed as a shoe not a boot .

Boot is cut to low for winter use
