May not fit or align properly in their frames.

We haven't owned or used it for very long and we're new at food drying. It's working well for us, drying garden fresh tomatoes, squashes, and mushrooms; but no meats just yet. The racks are incredibly sturdy for both drying and cleaning. The location of the fan results in perfect functionality.. The stainless steel exterior is true stainless in that magnets do not adhere to it. That in itself is a rarity in stainless kitchen appliances these days. Ours resides in the pantry now where the lighting is poor. We would suggest as an improvement to add miniature LED lighting for the interior. We find ourselves frequently peeking in on the drying process and right now that requires the use of a flashlight.

excaliber for 25 years and it is still going strong. The new one is very quiet and dries
wonderfully.I am sure the new one will live up to the fine quality of this product.

Great machine

The space this takes up is less than my 9-tray.  I love the controls.  Love that it has 2 zones so I can do 5 trays of 1 item at 4 hours / 105 degrees (example) ... and another item at 6 hours / 155 degrees.  Easy to program after initially running through the controls.  Suggest reading the manual.  This is one smart machine and will make your life easier!!!

Tester. Loved it.

This is the first dehydrator I have owned.  After many house of researching the internet and watching countless numbers of YouTube videos, I settled on this dehydrator.  I used it this past weekend  and successfully dehydrated 10lbs of Fugi apples.  A huge success.  I will be trying Pineapples this weekend.  Its easy to use and does a terrific job.  Get one!  or Two!

Great piece of equipment

I bought it about 4 mths ago and have used it a lot with great results and nothing is molding from improper drying like the cheaper brand stackable I used before.  Works better than my instant pot for culturing my yogurt.  Just wish accessories were in-stock to purchase the drying sheets for me and extra trays for my husband to use it to as we can't share due to my allergies

Love it,  worth every penny

I ordered my Stainless Steel 10 Tray Excalibur Dehydrator in December 2014 and I have been loving it since. The machine is truly a work-of-art. It's so well made. It looks like a high-end appliance. So far I've used it to dry nuts, fruit, and fruit roll-ups. I was happy to hear that each one is hand-built by a gentleman in the USA so quality/attention to detail is priority. The machine is quite large and makes a noticeable humming sound when on (like all dehydrators), so I keep mine in the basement which works out very well. Love the timer and the two-temp controls. The trays are stainless steel and high quality. It's very well packaged and protected in a box so shipping wasn't an issue. I love my dehydrator and would recommend it.

I bought mine in September. It runs constantly. Either making jerky or drying fruit. I opted for this model because it was all stainless. Some of the internal self tap screws have come out and the face plate for the timer was slapped on sloppily so when I wipe it down, the corner catches the rag and I have to be mindful not to damage the unit. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. But I do live it and use it to make apple chips every week. After dehydration, I bake them in the oven for 90 min at 200 degrees. Then they are crunchy as glass.  Great with peanut butter.

Like a lot of people have mentioned on the internet, the doors on this dehydrator are horrible. I am extremely surprised that excalibur has not done anything to address this issue, which is a bad sign of the excalibur as a company. For the high price, I would expact doors that functioned well. You can find other brand dehydrators for $300 that are better built.

Horrible Doors / Extremely Overpriced

My kids got this for me for Christmas. I have no idea how they ended up with this expensive piece of junk! It's tiny and plastic. There are no parts ANYWHERE that fit in it! I've seen many that were heavy duty with metal trays that were half as much as they spent for this thing! Why?!?!
