Attractive with the semi-mirror finish on the door and stylish keypad.  Over all it has features and the feel of somewhat better quality when compared to some less expensive choices.  The door latches softly without much noise.  The door button easy to push. The finished cooking beeps are softer and shorter than normal making it a less annoying in my opinion and the beeps can be eliminated all together if you wish.  The light comes on while cooking and when the door is open.  A feature becoming increasingly hard to find for some strange reason.  It has a larger interior than most 1.2 cu. ft. microwaves with a 13.5 inch turntable. At 1200 watts it cooks quicker than most.  The inverter technology allows it to cook at progressively lower but constant power settings instead of utilizing 100% power that cycles on and off as with most microwaves.  I think this has a lot to do with how well the automatic, sensor cooking modes work.  I was quite skeptical of the effectiveness of the one touch sensor cooking.  To my surprise it works surprisingly well, sensing when the food is ready and shutting off automatically.   My acid test was cooking rice with the sensor setting. It came out perfectly as did frozen vegetables, popcorn, rice and a host of other foods.  The one touch quick 30 key to input half a minute is a bit odd.  You have to hit the quick 30 key then the start button.  Most microwaves start immediately upon hitting such a key. The automatic sensor reheat feature works equally well.  Overall an impressive little microwave.  Only time will tell if it has more longevity than my past three microwaves.  None of which made it to two years.  It seems as if microwaves have become viewed as a disposable item not having much in the way of durability.

It looks sleek and modern, it fits perfectly in the space (with the required room for air flow), it heats food evenly, and is big enough to accommodate almost any size dish.
I only wish I could have gotten it in "almond" color to match my other appliances.

Just what I was looking for

I ordered this Panasonic after many hours of researching the best microwave. I was hesitant in buying an appliance online but am very pleased with the speed of delivery. We have been using this Panasonic and we love it! The Genius Sensor in heating up food is extremely accurate and reheats the food perfectly without any cold spots. The microwave is easy to use and I highly recommend it to all.

Great microwave

I did a bit of research before deciding on which microwave to buy as the last one I purchased from BJ's did not last long.   I am very pleased with this microwave and really like the sensor setting.  You put your food in the microwave, hit the sensor button and it heats up the food perfectly without it spewing all over the inside and bubbling over.  You don't have to guess which power level to use, it does that for you!  The defrost feature is also much better than previous microwaves as it defrosts well without cooking the outside of meat.  All in all extremely satisfied with this microwave and the huge improvements in utilization and even cooking.

Haave only had this microwave oven for less than a monthso have not had a chance to use all features, especially the sensor cooking. But everything else works fine.  It arrived on time and was packaged well. I like it.

Microve Oven

As others have reported, the instructions are inordinately complicated for disabling the child lock. I almost sent this back as I had to keep unplugging it to get the door open. I finally figured out the simple solution that SHOULD be clear in the operating instructions.

I am a major consumer researcher... this was one of the best overall microwaves, if not the best one, for this price range and size range. If you're looking for a 1-2 cubic foot unit for under $200, THIS is the microwave to buy... I've only had it for a month so far, but it has performed VERY well thus far.

Very Good Unit

The small size and large capacity, are what interested me first.  The features and soft touch are better then the lower priced units.This microwave is great.  We needed it to be small for counter space limitations.  Price was hig,h but the quality is better than the competition.  The unit runs quieter than our previous microwave.  The instructions, packaging, delivery, and pick up from Walmart were excellent.  Clean look with the more and less time buttons are nice too.

Panasonic fit the bill.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old Panasonic microwave finally started acting up after 30 years so I replaced it with a Panasonic NN-SN686S 1.2 Cu. Ft. 1,200 Watt Microwave.

My old microwave data label didn't specify the size but it was slightly larger as it had a 14” turntable. It listed an amp rating of 18 amps so it was probably a 1500 watt microwave. I wasn't optimistic of finding another model to last as long after reading all of the negative reviews for all brands and models on Amazon and other websites. I chose this model because it still has a number pad, is a good size for me, has 1200 watts and gets better reviews than many others.

The new microwave arrived well packaged with no damage. It is lighter than than my old one and takes up less counter space. Some people say newer models slide back when you push the button to open the door but this is a non issue for me as it is already against the wall. The door button doesn't seem that hard anyway, no harder than my old one. About the only thing I cook in a microwave is baked potatoes, everything else I'm just heating. When running it makes about as much noise as my old model. The old one made more of a hum while the new one makes more of what seems like a fan noise. I don't consider either excessively loud but they make enough noise in an open floor-plan to interfere with listening to the TV. The turntable doesn't make any weird noises while my unit is operating as some people have commented.

There are many reviews complaining about microwaves rusting inside, this model included. I can sure see why. This microwave vents very little steam outside when cooking/heating resulting in moisture covering the entire inside. I'm talking about more moisture than will evaporate by leaving the door open for a little while. The instructions say to wipe it out after each use. It's no wonder there are so many complaints of rusting interiors. Maybe they don't vent it because the sensor uses moisture levels to determine cooking power or time. I consider it a big negative to have to wipe out the interior almost every time I use it.

This microwave has 10 power levels but having to push the power level button 10 times to get to low power isn't what I consider user friendly. This kind of defeats the purpose of having the number pad. I don't like that you can't change the power level while cooking. My old Panasonic was the same, multiple pushes to set the power and you couldn't change the power level while cooking. In contrast the cheap small microwave in my RV allows one to change the power level while cooking just by simply pressing the power level button and then a keypad number. Panasonic should get with the program on user friendly controls.

The interior of this microwave is a somewhat dark gray color. It won't show up dirt but it doesn't reflect any of the illumination provided by the tiny LED light. My old microwave had an incandescent bulb that 
made it way easier to see inside the oven while cooking. I had to change the bulb
