Main reason for purchase was to help manage dust and petroleum smell from the west Texas oil wells. It cleared the air in my 2 bedroom apartment in a little over an hour. Settings are easy to understand. It's so quiet you'll find yourself checking to see if it's still running. So far it's preforming as expected.

Don't be tricked by the on sale ones. They cover less than half the square feet this one does. The air smells cleaner and is easier to breathe. When I shake off a blanket, vacuum or do any activity that would kick up dust the indicator turns from blue to red almost immediately showing me that it has detected the dust and turns back to blue once the air is clean.

This is worth paying more for

This unit is so quiet you cannot even tell it's on most of the time.  It's easy to use and maintain and definitely improves air quality.  I originally purchased one of these for my elderly parents to help with their air quality in their home because they were both having issues breathing more than was typical.  After getting this they found their breathing issues were relieved and thus I purchased one for my own home.  I find that it definitely helps with my asthma and has alleviated some of my allergy issues.  I'd recommend this product if you want an affordable and truly useful air purifier.

Truly works and very quiet.

My daughter has allergies and they can lead to asthmatic conditions. I have had other air purifiers in the past but am happiest with this purchase! It is so QUIET. It senses the air for quality and adjusts the air flow accordingly. Even on highest, when light is red, it is so quiet, I have to ask, is that thing on? Anyway, it came with extra filters for 2 years so all in all I feel it was a good buy and our air is a lot better. FYI-1950 built home, basement, old attic, so this air filter has a lot of work going on.

Great air filter for the money and free filters!

Doesn't really take away the smell of smoke but the ease of use and the fact that I have it running 24/7 is enough the give top rating. I like that it makes noise but thats just me. I need the sound of a fan blowing to sleep. Before buying this i had trouble with sneezing and breathing sometimes. Not anymore! Love it . Plus all the extra filters. Best purchase is could have made hands down.

purchased this to try to eliminate the dog smell from my house. Works wonderful!  Great filtering system, comes with extra filters, easy to use and quiet when running, multiple settings including night mode. Light changes when sensing " dirt" so I know it is working!

Helps with Dog smell

This air purifier is the greatest thing I ever bought. It keeps smells from cooking away. The dust in my house to a minimum. I have a cat who sheds and it even sucks the cat hair out the air. My husband used to always have stuffy nose and hard time to breathe until we got this. The night mode is very quiet and keeps the light off so you're not disturbed with the bright blue like that is normally shows. My apartment is about 2,000 sf so it covers everything. This is a must have in every household.

Best Purchase Ever!!!

Well, so far it's been OK. I guess I really don't know if it's clear in the area I mean the air excuse me we are living in a mobile home that arranged to the ceiling in the walls and I'm trying to find us something different but right now it's myself from 55 on Social Security and my father's 86. It is very hard for us to breathe. Sometimes you know with the mold and mildew growing everywhere in this home. I'm trying to find a housing where is becoming a joke I can't find anything and so I tried to get this to try to help us with the air. Maybe I can control a little bit of that mold and mildew that's growing, but it has taken a toll on me and I'm to the point of just giving up and it's sad and my father is 86 and he's his health is not good but you know there's nothing nobody can do about it or call the government government things people that try to help you aware of fire assistance and a year to a year and a half wait the ceiling is not even go last year is going to collapse anyways or we're gonna go through the floor one of the two anyways I don't know I'm sick again so I don't know what to tell you about it if it works or not I do apologize.

This is advertised as covering a 1774 sq ft area online. When I got home and looked at the instructions and it states it only covers 300 /- sq ft. I wouldn't have spent 150 had I known it cover such a small sq ft area. false advertising is not okay Walmart.

This is the title “Winix Air Purifier, C535, 4-Stage Cleaning with 2 Years of Filters. Max Room Capacity 1776 sq ft.” It is in fact ONLY 3-stage cleaning… also the photos listed show a remote with absoleutly no remote anywhere to be found. I was very excited to help with allergies and our cat/dog dander but of course the website and Walmart have falsely advertised. As soon as I got it today, hooked it up, then started googling I found that there is a lawsuit out for them, AGAIN, falsely advertising the filters are not actually what they claim to be. I'm irritated and will be returning and making sure no one orders this product again :(
