Staub makes an amazing product. We all know that. This one was a gift for someone who loves to cook....could not be happier!

I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens or baking a boule of sourdough bread. You have enough room to add all of your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. For baking bread the cast iron is perfect because it conducts heat so well, and retains the heat. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste whatever dish you are baking or roasting in the oven, all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though! Bread does come out perfect when baked in a staub and your chickens will come out juicy and golden brown.

All the great attributes and benefits of Staub ratcheted up too handle many hungry mouths. This fabulous cast iron will do all you want it to, and for as many people as you have to feed. Size does not affect this pot. It will cook as evenly as you expect it to. And the durable enamel coating inside makes for easy clean up and the deep enamel coating on the outside makes for a beautiful presentation at the table. This is not your run of the mill cast iron. This is lifetime quality stuff - a pot to build memories with and that the kids and grand kids will use too.

If 9 is for company then 13 is for a crowd

This beautifully two toned gray colored, 9 qt, is my preferred Staub Dutch oven, in my collection I have several other colors and enjoy each one. Honestly, the Majolique colors are the very best and worth the slight extra price. I never see fingerprints and they are like stained glass, different lighting give a different appearance. I love this size for entertaining, it gives food a bit of room to move around, which makes it easier to use from oven to table. A nice sized roast fits comfortably along with any root veggies that you want to add. It gives you room to stir the liquid without spilling a drop for liquid gold!

Great Gray whale, holds alot!

Perfect for extra large batches of stew, chili or soup.  The pan has amazing heat capability, heats quickly, evenly and retains heat for hours - great for a party.  It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out and your flavor base stays intact.  You may think pan is too big but it will be the first one you grab when making a large meal.

Little effort required when working with this pot of such strength.   Amazing Browning due to the even and high heat this pot can achieve.  Imagine, this pot will with stand temperature of 900 degrees. Put it on your outside grill or wood burning oven. It can take it!!  no need to season this pot-  
clean up is also a breeze with this pot-  and, you won't get the staining !!  Innovative black matte interior.  If you are looking for a "forever" pot...this is it!

Herculean

This 9qt graphite grey cocotte will look great on the stove and on your table. The exclusive self-basting lid and nonstick enameled cast iron will leave you with the best results. Though this cast iron giant is heavy, it is easy to clean...if it can fit in your sink/dishwasher.

I purchased this as a “gray divorce” present to myself.  I should have purchased this YEARS ago when I had three children and a husband at home.  I didn't realize how huge it would be when I ordered but let me tell y'all - I kept it anyway.  It is perfect sitting on a shelf that I have in my now empty kitchen that I am rebuilding.  I have used it twice to cook a big ‘ol beautiful bone-in ribeye steak (yep - just for me) and a roasted chicken.  The lid kept the chicken so moist (I hate that word, too….) It fell right off of the bone using a fork.  Like butter, y'all!  I am going to get me a braiser soon.  I will forever be proud of me for making this my first (expensive) purchase for myself post 33 year “D” day.  Treat yourselves.

It's huge y'all

I love using this pot for so many recipes. This is a great large size cocotte, I've used the 5.5 qt before and sometimes that would be too small, but with the 9 qt. you're not restricted when making large soups or dutch oven recipes. I love how well this heats up and retains the heat. I also love that the lid actually does something in the cooking process, and that I don't have to worry about my food going dry. It's heavy, but very durable, I absolutely love this piece and this color, the Graphite color looks great in any modern, neutral kitchen; subtitle but is also a statement color.

Perfect large dutch oven

No other cast iron on the market compares to Staub. The black enamel interior browns and carmelizes so well. The lids fit tightly so those self basting spikes underneath keep your creation moist and flavorful whether you are cooking on the stovetop or in the oven. The colors available are so beautiful, it's hard to choose.
