[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a fun addition to the viewing experience. You do have to get pretty close to the reels in order to trigger them to work. But once you do, we found them interesting. The animals have movement which the kids found exciting. There were videos that you could click on that made everything look 3D. I didn't care having to tie up my phone for a long period of time. It also made my phone get extremely hot. We liked that we could move our head around and get a 360 degree view. I liked that there were 3 reels included in this package. There was the Australian Outback, Amazon and the African Savanna. We tried the African Savanna first and it felt like we were on a safari. Accessing the videos that were on it as you looked around was a great feature. Using the reels would have been nice to have more explicit directions. The pass card wouldn't work right away and after many tries finally got it situated the correct way. Don't know if it gets bent if it will quit working, so be careful. The directions did say that one better not lose the red wheel or you won't be able to operate the viewer. Also since you purchase the pack to use with the View Master, don't lose the paper scan card either. It would have been nice if they had built it as a bar code onto the wheels as you know if a kid is using/myself, will be lucky to get everything back in the right box. When viewing you see different items you can view (the digital icons), once you decide you click the lever. There is sound which also made the experience more interesting. There were facts you could click on as well as mini games. If you explore all that is included in the packs there is a lot of entertainment. The only problem is worrying about my phone overheating and if the phone is charged enough. After a few minutes you do get the dizzy feeling from having the items so close to your eyes. This National Geographic pack is kid friendly. This extra pack is worth purchasing if you are going to buy the View Master viewer.

Love all the packs that i got with the view master. These are a great learning experience that my grandson is gonna love. He will have to be helped but he loves learning things. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I watch of lot of NatGeo shows and this is like being up close, it makes an African safari personal. There are actual footage of animals and it shows what animal you are looking at and an informative fact about the animal.
The Amazon jungle is very realistic and the virtual reality kind makes you dizzy looking around at the 3D effect of the jungle, it is really cool the 3D experince. There is the outback animals shown with an informative fact and the desert is a realistic effect.
The lions, zebras, elephants, cockatoos, rhinoceros, dingos, kangaroos, koalas, jaguars have real live footage and these are just the ones whose names I know they are several other different types of exotic animals.
They have an interactive safari game on each reel finding the animals. It is an up and down 360 degree experince with sound. The sound can be muted but I don't see no reason to the sound enhances the experience. I definitely know which is my favorite place to visit and where I would make a vacation spot. The whole process would be less complicated and I would feel like I have inside knowledge of these sights. Go on safari without leaving home!

Visit the Australian Outback or the heart of the Amazon or even the African Savanna without all the expense, heat or insects to bug you. All without the worry of getting lost or eaten. This could be a mini vacation for you and all without leaving home.

First you download the file View-Master® Wildlife on your Android smart phone or compatible iOS phone, then hold passport to your smartphone screen to activate.
Next place your phone into the view master making sure to line it up with the lines so you can see things correctly. Now look through the view master at one of the reels and away you go.

This one can benefit those who are allergic to animals because they have a chance to experience some of what it like in nature without the allergies. You can look up, down, left or right and see things you would not see in the original view master. Great for seeing different animals, learning about animals you may not have known existed. With three reels to choose from you really can have fun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were super excited to see the wildlife up close and personal on 3D. It really is an awesome experience. After getting the app up and running, and watching what the demo had to offer, we couldn't wait to see what the reels had to offer. Well, unfortunately, it wasn't that easy. My phone has a screen protecting file that was not allowing my phone to read the scans from the Pass Cards. I was trying everything like crazy. I eventually I went through their website troubleshooting section. I understood that the screen protector had to be removed. With three small children, my screen protector has protected my phone too many times. I didn't want to remove it. I kept trying for several hours before I decided to remove the film. Even after I removed the film, my phone was not reading my Pass Card. After a couple of hours trying, it finally went through. The reels are pretty neat. We were in the middle of different wilderness. Wildlife was just a few yards away from us. A small video clip and a picture of the animals can be accessed by a swipe of the lever.
I was a bit disappointing that there is very limited. Other than the video clips, the animals don't move much. There were very limited wildlife. I'm hoping that future reels provide more in the future. But for starters, it was very entertaining.

Great start

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If someone had the VR View Master, I would probably recommend it. I would not recommend it otherwise, as I had so much trouble getting the viewer to work. The National Geographic Wildlife Experience Pack contains the 3 discs you need, as well as the 'passport' needed to get the whole thing going on your smartphone. You need to download the experience pack to your phone from the internet, put your phone inside the viewer, look at one of the discs (Savanna, Amazon and Outback in this one), and there you are--in the center of a 360-deg. place where you can see animals, trees, mountains, everything. Center on one of the animals, push the lever and you can see information about them, or a close-up film of a lion or elephant or capybara. (I now know much more about capybaras than I did before.) I wish there was more to see, but what there is, is very well done and interesting. (For some reason, I have not been able to get the Outback disc to work, but I'm still trying. It took me a month to get the viewer to work, so I'll keep at it.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Viewmaster experience pack- Wildllfe (nature) falls short. These are mostly cheesie animations. Some very short videos of real animals are embedded, but you can find better information and videography free online.The app glitched out, you need to nearly look under your feet to find the menu. When I clicked to go back to main menu the app required me to remove the iPhone and start over every time. More frustrating to my child than it was for me, but it is avoids toy and should work. Unlike the classic Viewmaster you need to stand up and turn in circles to see the sights. Stand in an empty room!! I am an adult and still managed to bump into things. There were so many missed opportunities to show more detail and information on this one. I do not think the 3D aspect added any more to these destinations than Googling them would, in fact, there was considerably less. In addition, expect that there is a possibility of headache or trouble focusing right after use. We had those. Do not lose the card that is the package- it is all that is keeping you from having to buy in app purchases. If your child is, well, a child-- put that card somewhere safe.

Lacking

I bought this in Oct 2021 while doing early Christmas shopping. I just opened the package today to find out that the mobile app was discontinued in 2018. You can no longer download it. The seller should not be allowed to sell this product. I want my money back!

Discontinued/unsupported products - don't buy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In Review this 3D viewing experience I was hoping to see something of noteworthiness
but in the hassle of setting this up I became discouraged.
the problems started with the Installation of the App onto my Smart Phone, although it was
easy to locate the app in the Google app store that's where the happiness ended, the program
is VERY large taking up to 270 MB and it took about 5 to 7 minutes to download, (make sure your are on a fast WI FI network) upon the completion of the download I tried to initiate the problem but it took several attempts including shutting down my Smart phone and the restarting it.
Make sure you are in a well Lit area to view the Reals , if not the program will not work, which
I found out. then be aware that your Smartphone in the Case will get hot right away.
Once I manage to complete this process I was able to see the Wildlife in there So called Nature Environment, this was not even close to reality but more of a bad depiction of the Animals(not real looking more like cardboard cutouts)and the fields looked like a 80's video game. So On this Viewmaster Wildlife Experience I give it a unfavorable rating. and recommend
that you skip this particular one.
