The DL479 clamp meter adds both safety and time efficient features providing a new level of value and peace of mind. The HVAC Clamp Meter offers comprehensive HVAC/R features like temperature and includes a high contrast backlit display making readings clear in bright sunlight as well as dark work environments. Rated to CATIII 600V/CATII 1000V .


Average-responding meters are widely used and work well for linear electrical loads. However, when the loads are nonlinear, like those of an adjustable-frequency drive or semiconductors, they require the accuracy of a HVAC Clamp Meter like the DL479 to correctly measure the distorted sign-waves. In these situations, an HVAC clamp meter will provide a correct reading on the distorted waveform where an average-responding meter may result in error readings up to 40%.
