Easy to install. Wall screws fit in exact location of 20+ year Trane thermostat thereby avoiding two more holes. Easy and simple controls. Just touch screen rather than finding right button controls. Ability to set two rather than four temperature settings a day as we are retired. Relatively inexpensive at under $50. Did not want wifi capability for the vulnerability of being hacked and any appliance that is more complicated has the potential of having more problems. Did not want one temperature setting for both A/C and Heat as comfort temperature levels are different for both. All good. One minor con:  Screen light could be brighter. But not a show stopper.

I am neither a Handyman or IT tech but installing this unit and programming it was as easy as advertised. Plus, it works. Couldn't be happier. By the way, I now have two of these units.

Thermostat replacement

High ratings.  And I have a similar one I have used for years and I really like it., but its life span might be running out.  I just hope this also works with my current system and any future system I might use.

Good Thermostat

Perfect thermostat for my application. This is the 3rd Lux thermostat I've had over the past 18 years. Easy to install and program. Just follow the instructions and it will work perfectly.

Perfect Thermostat

Package only comes with install guide-no user instructions (have to go out to website and find it). I feel the install guide was not written for the layperson with little knowledge of electronics. Took me an hour or more to figure out what type of hvac system I had in my home and what wiring diagram of many to use. After breaking out my old thermostat's users guide, I was finally able to ID which wiring diagram to use ( used a flow diagram to ID my home hvac system). Connecting the wires to the new thermostat was challenging due to the small size of the retaining screws and the thickness of the systems wiring. Using needle nose pliers made this doable but the wires kept popping out when moving the plate into position. Finally got it on but had to download the user guide to figure out how to set up the thermostat for use. Now that its finally setup and installed, seems to be working ok but need to watch the displayed temperature as it is not consistent with an independent thermometer I used to verify its temp reading.

Install challenging

The installation is a breeze, at least if you're just replacing the old unit with this one. I have a 2-stage heat pump, and these can be a pain to set up correctly, too many wires to match up. But with this model, it was super simple. 
One thing: the included manual only covers installation and basic set-up. For advanced set-up options, download and print a full manual. Once you do, all the programming is very simple to do. I would definitely recommend this over any Honeywell product, which is what I replaced. My reasons: Honeywell doesn't let you select swing adjustment! I get its not for everyone to play with, but it's up to consumer to make that decision, no?

Easy installation for regular Joe

Can't speak to longevity, just installed it 2 days ago, but it installed easily, and works fine. 

PROS:   
*   Big screen display, makes it easy to read without glasses.
*   Touch screen makes it easy to bump the temp a degree or two, easily.
*   Lights up when you touch it, so even in the dark, you can still see what you're doing.
*   Separate adjustments for every day of the week, so if Tuesday is your off day, rather than Sunday, you can still set it different from the others. 
*   Copying all the settings from one day to the next is easy (So you don't have to go through all that for every day of the week.)
*   You can adjust the "swing" on your temp. I set mine to +/- 1 degree, so I get a 2 degree swing in temps. If you want to set it for more, or less, you can set it as YOU want it. 
*   Easy installation, just need a tiny Phillips head screwdriver, though.

CONS: 
*   It's a bear to get it separated from the back. I get that you don't want it to fall off the holder, but nothing needs to be this firmly attached on a supposedly pull apart item. I finally had to get a screwdriver to pry it apart, and Yes, I did see the obvious place where you just need to push/pull with your fingers. I just couldn't apply sufficient force with my fingers to get it to let go. 

Unknown:     Longevity.   I've had it for 2 days and it works great, just as we'd hoped. Can't speak to the long run. 

I did a lot of research before buying, and I'm happy with my choice. I'm also happy with the price. There are a lot of much more expensive ones out there, and this one had all I wanted, at a reasonable price.

TIP:   Don't get too worried about the "Codes" for marking the wires.  On mine anyway, the wire codes simply matched the wire colors. G=Green, R=Red, etc. Not much of a secret code, unless you can't see colors or spell - in which case may be you shouldn't be wiring anyway.    : )

It was professionally installed and not only did not give me the 2 degree swing that I wanted, (was the reason I bought it in the first place) it wouldn't shut system down after reaching temperature. I was totally disapointed and assume that it was either defective or junk.  I returned it to my nearest Walmart and received a refund.
