It's a great product, slightly outdated, but it still works well. I don't understand why LG doesn't release more 27-inch 5K monitors for professionals. It pairs perfectly with a MacBook Pro. Recommended! I hope LG launches a new model soon with the same characteristics: 27-inch, 5K, ~220 dpi, maybe with improved refresh rate.

This latest model works with the most recent iPad Pros (as well as recent Macs). I tried it with my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9-inch. When running apps like AppleTV, Hulu, and AmazonPrime Video, the LG displayed 4K movies at true 3840x2160 at 60Hz while the iPad Pro displayed start/stop and jump forward/backward controls. Games like Real Racing 3 displayed the racing simulation on the LG while the iPad Pro acted as a steering wheel with throttle and brake controls. LG UltraFine 5K Display for iPad Pro (and Mac)

After 3 weeks of usage, this is my favorite external monitor. On a MacBook Pro, the display is vibrant, and brightness is easy to control using the Touch Bar. 5K is a big step up from 4K at 27” as it allows Retina scaling at QHD levels. Windows support is hit-or-miss, but I got it to work using a 3rd-party Thunderbolt dock, and a free app that allows setting brightness, Note that 5K can use a lot of GPU resources, and the LG doesn't work with eGPUs, so it is best for Macs or PCs with Iris Plus or built-in discrete GPUs.

Great with a Mac or iPad - Can Work with Windows

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this monitor when I replaced my 27" Retina iMac with a 14" M1 Max MacBook Pro. I was used to the screen size and quality of the iMac, and this display gives me exactly that; in fact, the iMac's panel is made by LG and is the same as the one found in this monitor. You can't beat the convenience: When I connect the display to my MacBook Pro with the included Thunderbolt cable, the laptop's screen is displayed on the LG, sound from the computer is routed to the monitor's speakers, the computer is being charged, and I have access to the display's web cam, microphone, and everything else that may be plugged into its three USB3 ports, such as a backup drive, optical drive, and so on. All this with a single cable! In at least two ways, the display improves on the iMac: the screen brightness is better, and the LG's screen is much easier to clean. To clean the iMac's screen was frustrating; I don't know what the LG's screen is coated with, but cleaning it is a cinch as there are no streaks. A great product that I would buy again!

Great screen quality and unmatched convenience

I just got the monitor through my upgrade with an M1 Macbook Pro and thunderbolt hub. I could not get the monitor resolution above 4K. I had an OWC thunderbolt cable for my SSD that is blazing fast. I tested monitor with that cable and everything worked fine but supplied cables were trash. So I would expected additional costs associated with this monitor purchase to get the resolution up to spec. Still need to test hub with a new cable since failed to function correctly with supplied cable.

Great Monitor but cheap cables

I had 2 of these. 1 one of them stopped working with my MacBook after not so long, the other still works but the webcam, mic, speakers all don't work anymore.  For the price point this is absurd. Additionally, having only thunderbolt input makes this difficult to use in the general case. I'd much prefer a monitor that had more versatility and reliability.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Is not compatible with iOS Sonoma 14.7 and above. Has become a 2k brick. Still works on any MacBook below that iOS. Have tested Sequioa 15.0 and there has been no patch.

Great monitor in terms of color, screen, resolution etc— but durability is possibly the worst I've ever seen. I've had THREE of these in the past year die from the worst USB-C connection known to man. DO NOT BUY THIS IT WILL FAIL. Repair shops won't fix it — even the ones that LG has specifically recommended to me. What a headache these have been. Wish they just would have fixed this issue in a later version.

Is this a joke? One day, when I turned on the monitor, it stopped displaying red colors. I noticed that many users have the same problem. There are a lot of complaints about this on the web, and LG responds to the comments here with an automated message suggesting that people check their cables.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this monitor since 2022 and I have the same problem like RobArt where the red color seems to not be working anymore.  It's so disappointing.  I was so happy with this monitor.  Don't waist your money.
