I bought this scanner to start the process of digitizing all of my old family photos.  The software and scanner are both easy to use and produce great results. My only issue has been an error message that pops up every now and then about a communication error, but unplugging the device and plugging it back in helps solve this. Considering the many hours straight I have used this, it's a great buy for the price!

Great scanner for the price.  Easy to set up, light weight and fits in a drawer when not in use.  Excellent resolution.  No automatic feeder means no paper jams!  Love it!

Great scanner!

I had no trouble installing the software included with the Scanner on a new Mac Pro computer.  In my case I had to purchase an adapter cable to provide power to the scanner USB port because Apple's newer computers no longer have USB connections.  The scanner worked as advertised.  The scanner is easily portable and requires no power except that provided by the attached computer.  It is an excellent choice for scanning information into a laptop computer.

Epson V39 Scanner

This unit is easy to use, does not require an additional power cord (runs from the USB connection), and stores easily when not in use. This is one of the best purchases I have made so now I can scan in documents instead of taking pictures with my phone.

No more phone pictures

This product was exactly as it was portrayed. It was delivered 4 days prior to the estimated delivery date. I would have given a 5-star rating, but I do not find the Walmart Departments, Services, etc. user-friendly, so there is room for improvement. I have only once had a delivery "on-time". I have had them early as above, and delayed. I have no solution, but a very useful improvement would be  a more accurate delivery estimate.

Great, but room for improvement!

I recently bought this scanner. It was in the price range that I wanted to spend and had good recommendations from on-line reviews before I made the purchase. The quality of the scans of my old photos are pretty good, but not great.  I'm keeping some of the original printed photos because they look better than the scans.

Not Exactly the Quality I Wanted

I guess you get what you pay for. This is a bargain and is very compact and easy to physically use. The software, however, leaves a bit to be desired. Once downloaded and installed, it had a bug that prompted me to register the product over and over and over . . .  It took two hard reboots to get it to quit. Once past that frustration, the scanner is easy to use. It's a little noisy and slow, but for the price I can live with it. Not recommended if you have a ton of pictures or documents to scan, though.

Satisfactory for the price

It's somehow super simple and yet super frustrating. First off, there are barely any manual settings. It does what it wants. The few there are don't work. Dust removal? Nothing. It also crops your photos, which sometimes is nice -and sometimes it cuts off things.  Also, it closes out of itself every single time. So every single photo you have to reopen it. Second issue: it only does well with newer photos or glossy prints. Anything on textured paper, it zooms in on the texture as shown. Third, it quit working on day 2. I can't seem to fix it at all. Freezing, disconnecting. I tried updating it from the Epson support page, but it's so outdated, that didn't help. Thank goodness WM lets you return.

So many negatives.

Thought it would work for what I needed. I had to keep restarting the software while in the process of scanning. I could live with that, but now its only been 5 or 6 weeks since purchase and it won't even turn on when connected to the computer.  Please look for an alternative if possible.

Worked at first then quit 5 weeks out.

All I needed was a scanner, and I thought this one would be perfect. ($30 more than a scanner and printer combined, which is funny.) But it kept hanging up on installation, would never let me get past that and never gave me an error message. Very frustrating.
