Application is straightforward and simple.

This paint stripper is AMAZING!! It has a wonderful citrusy orange scent, too! So easy to work with. Just brush it on (thick) your project and either 1)wait maybe 20-30 minutes or 2)cover the CitriStrip with a layer of white trash bags, which will allow you to finish the project the next day if needed. When you come back, use a plastic paint scraper and the old paint will literally lift off in one giant strip. Easy peasy! And no harsh chemical smells. 
In the pictures, the dresser had multiple layers: was first dyed blue and red with RIT dye; then painted a mint green with a darker green sponge detail around the top edges; then painted white.

Citristrip worked like a charm on painted surfaces. Not so much on stain or maybe it was the varnish? To be fair the finish on the coffee table was 30 years old. But the Citristrip left behind areas that were not penetrated so either I had to apply another coat or work extra hard at sanding.

It's only a quart. I just assumed it was a gallon because that's what I ordered from Amazon. And it was just a few bucks more. So for the price I would definitely either see if Walmart has the gallon and if not I would definitely just order it through amazon at a better price

Does the job, just need to put in a thick coat, used to strip paint from a door with 4 layers, did use like 2 of these because I didnt know how much to use first i did thin coats and it didnt do much, so use a thick coat and works great also recommend using saran wrap! It does have a weird odor, but not too strong

A Must-Have for DIY Projects!

worked for most of the paint i needed to strip off. there were sections that reapplied a few times that still didn't fully lift, but overall it worked out okay.

I don't like the scent of oranges, but it was my best option. It wasn't too overpowering, but it wasn't pleasant to me.

I recommend this product if you are going to use it outside or in a large, well ventilated area. I read several reviews searching for an easy to use paint stripper that could be used inside and didn't hardly have a smell.  I was removing the paint on my bathroom cabinets and vanity. The doors were the only parts that I could do outside. I tested a small area about a 4"x4" size with a really thick coating on the side of my vanity first. I left it on for approx 20 hours, and then I took a rag and wiped it right off. I was impressed. I used a paint brush and put a generous amount on the whole side of the vanity, opened the bathroom window, and left it for over 24 hours. It didn't remove a lot at all. I knew that I would have to apply a really thick amount and use saran warap to cover it in to keep it in place from dripping down. The smell was overwhelming. I waited several days before attempting again. I t removed some in certain areas, but the vast majority I had to scrape or sand the paint off. I highly recommend only on items you can take outside and lay down and turn over.

Outside projects only

I used Citristrip on a wood cabinet door to remove varnish and paint, but even after letting it sit for 24 hours, it barely did anything. Instead of stripping the finish, it just left behind a sticky residue that now has to be cleaned off. At this point, sanding probably would have been easier and faster. Pretty disappointing experience overall.

Disappointed

CitriStrip does work, but dries before actually working correctly, no matter the temp. Wasted a lot of time and product trying to get it to work, but I accidentally figured out how to make it work by putting it on thick, covering it with Saran Wrap, and letting it sit for 12-24 hours. If used according to directions, it will only take off a small amount, if any at all, which may be their plan, so you have to use much more.

followed the instructions to a T. lathered a thick layer on, waited 30 mins. and yeah no this is not what I wanted lol we found out there was many many layers on this wood piece and this product is just no match for it.
