best small torch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] work's great with a adapter hose to a 20 lb propane tank.  Very nice Touch love the push button start

This torch has no equal to the best of my knowledge, and there's a feature that hasn't been mentioned in any of the reviews that I've read, so I'd like to bring it to light for any potential buyers. The flame adjustment knob can be articulated (swivelled) from one side to the other to accommodate one handed control of the heat intensity using only your thumb, so no matter if you're righthanded or lefthanded, you can continue working with complete control. The adjustment is simple to make using only an allen wrench, and in no way adversly affects the torches flame or the product users safety. I don't understand why this feature isn't being advertised! Just another aspect that sets this torch even farther apart from the competitors, and if you're wise you'll accept no substitute, because this torch sets the benchmark.

Good but the price is little too much.

Bad news first. Over time the neck gets loose and when you retighten it, it starts to get cockeyed. Perhaps they need a better way to secure the neck than just screwing on. Good news. It's been a solid tool that's I've used for everything. Small metal work, heat coloring titanium, loosening nuts, starting the charcoal, killing bees nest, brazing, making s'mores and the list goes on.

Been a good tool for years

I have used Mapp gas for the last 30 plus years and I used to buy in bulk,50 cylinders at a time. some time ago a few cylinders started to turn up in our workshop that where bought while out on the job. several guys started to complain that the torches where no good ,so we got some new one's 3 models they didn't like using them out in the field,the heat was not there,wind ? then recently we did a production run in where we timed the heat before bending at the same heat input every time,consistency! at some point the bottle was replaced and the "new" bottle new stock was used,the thing just didn't wanted to bend the jig was damaged etc. so I did some testing on gas and torches, the old bottles we have some old stock from years gone back,dusty etc they work perfect! Further internet searches reveal that the "special" gas mix is a lot less hot,our test showed 20% less then original. Where I could braze a copper pipe out in the yard I just was able with two torches. As a result we have to go to oxy acetylene with a lot of cost for the rental of bottles . So our conclusion ,nice product for the hobbyist come softsolder jobs but no longer for the profesional or plumber,or production environment.

NOT so HOT any more

I bought this through Walmart at the time of the purchase the product was listed as "TS8000 torch".  But when it arrives, I found it is an n open box item and the model is TS4000 which is a much inferior product. Now, the changed the product decript and removed the model number. But I have my recipe attached with the original item model number.  Very disappointed. I will check if they can give me a refund, if not, I will call my credit card company.
