I bought these to attach a rooftop cargo box for a move from St Louis Missouri to Miami Florida and had zero problems. They were easy to assemble and affordable. The only suggestion I'd have for the company is to attach the plastic feet covers to the four feet of the rack.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am completely satisfied with getting it. i checked on rails for my car and none were available, and i have a 77 lb, 12'-9" tandem fishing kayak to take to various lakes, and have fun on, so needed something. the universal kit worked exactly as expected. unfortunately it isn;t secured that well, you cannot tighten the straps enough to really lock it into place, so i took a 10' one inch pvc pipe and cut it into 2 2' sections with 't' fittings to slide over the two bars to hold them together as a unit and to slide my kayak onto between the two of them. i then put pip insulation on the pipes for SOFT PADDING. WORKS GREAT SO FAR. I ALSO CUT CLOTH AND PUT IT UNDER THE PADDED FEET OF THE RACKS, BECAUSE IF IT SLIDES IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR ROOF PAINT. i secure it down by wrapping strap around the pvc pipes and the middle post of my car both ways.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Delivery was very quick. I have an older BMW sedan with no rails on the roof. I use the roof cross bars to carry 2 kayaks (short trips). I have Thule kayak racks attached. It has worked fine for me on a few short trips and they are certainly sturdy to carry 2 kayaks (total weight 100 lbs). Good choice and well made.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven't hauled anything yet but my biggest complaint is the rubber pads for the feet do not fit as well as I would like. Barely covering the bottom. I hope when I put the weight on it, it doesn't slide and scratch my car. We will see.

Foot pads

When I bought this roof rack, I needed one in a hurry.
After opening the box, the first impression was how low quality the parts were.
The crossbar was like those of cheap curtain rods, the base was made of questionable plastic.
But all in all, it served it's purpose.

The rubber footing that goes under the plastic base didn't provide much traction on the roof of my car. The rack could easily slide back & forth if not strapped down properly. Even when well strapped, I could still shift the rack toward the front and rear of my car. I fixed that by epoxy some tool drawers rubber lining to the bottom of the plastic base, and epoxy the rubber permanently to the plastic base. On that note, applying side-way pressure seems very stable, and shifted the whole car.

The clip that goes between the doors didn't quite fit my car to the "T". I could see that it was just hanging on, with the help of the door pinching it in place. I have not found a solution for this yet, but for the amount of weight that i'm carrying, I"m not overly concern of it popping out of place, yet.

The straps which connects to the plastic base under the bar made me nervous. I wasn't confident of the plastic base, let alone have that as the sole connection point that holds the the rack to my car. So I looped the strap around the cross bar for added peace of mind.

The cross bar has pre-drilled holes, which could be a cause for wind noise. I duct tape the extra holes that wasn't being used.

This is a 47" roof rack, too bad it didn't come in 50", but I'm sure the weight capacity would most likely drop drastically. I was using this on a 2006 Infinity G35X, all I can say is, it is functional for the price I've paid.

Functional

The roof rack that was supposed to fit a Dodge caliber is a cheap inefficient roof rack that has no security whatsoever. I was quite disappointed and that the belt that held it up securely went inside the car and did not allow room for your head anymore.

Product rating

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Makes sense that a cheap product would be.. cheap. I can't sit in my car with the straps that connect the rack, because they sit too low. I spent 2 hours trying to make it work so I could drive, but no. Don't recommend this product for a truck.

Don't buy for a truck. Straps will impede driving.
