It's sturdy without being too heavy and holds a good amount of clothes. The square design actually makes folding and sorting laundry easier. We bought 6 of these in 2011 and to this date 3 of those still have their stickers on. The baskets are simply awesome. Made from extremely durable and tough plastic, which have seen abuse from use. We mostly use them for laundry, but we are not easy on them. They see occasional use to carry groceries, toys, farm and auto stuff, etc. The near cubic dimensions make them easy to carry as well as store. The handles are very well made, do not pinch and have uniform load distribution. Plus they are Made in the USA. Sterilite in general makes great storage products and these are not an exception. I am not seeing them in stock in most of the stores anymore, but see the 1204 style more often, which makes me think if these are being discontinued. I just purchased another 8 with the hope of seeing them last for another 2 decades, maybe will them to my progeny. Keep it up Sterilite, proud to have a good Made in the USA product.

I love these baskets! Mine have took a good beating over the years and it's time to replace them I'm sad to see they aren't made anymore. The option available now is not as sturdy or stylish 😢

Great laundry basket sad to see them out of stock

I have a few of these baskets and they are so much handier to use than the larger rectangular size. Handy to sort and tote clothes around and I keep one in the back of my car to put bottles and grocery bags in so they don't roll around--and you can carry it all inside without making extra trips, put the basket back in the car and you're ready for next time. When I am looking for a new item in the plastics category, I look at the Sterilite items first--usually end up buying one of them--they really are the best!

Love these small baskets, they are so versatile!

I have had 4 of these for longer than I can remember, I had to live with my mom for a while and we definitely fight over them! They are the perfect size for laundry, NOT big and bulky and difficult to get through a doorway and easily stackable to put away when not using. My son has played in them and with them for years, he's 9 now and they're still strong. No cracks or breaks. Have used them for laundry a toy basket for moving. Absolutely love these would recommend 100 times over!

I recently got my first apartment and it is a tiny apartment so with that being said everything that is in my space is very valuable to me. This basket is perfect for my needs and I think it would be great for anyone looking for something small but yet durable .

We use baskets for our students to put their coats and book bags in. This size fits this need perfectly. Not only that be we have limited storage space in the school buildings, and the small square footprint is perfect, as we can stack them high.

Also, very thick plastic, able to handle heavy book bags!

Afterschool Program

I love this basket. I have seen some reviews on this of people not satisfied with it, but someone, somewhere isn't happy with something. I call it a basket because it's not just a laundry basket to me. We recently moved and I used this to put heavy, breakable and last minute stuff in it. It held up with no issues. I also use it for a laundry basket, which has been thrown down stairs several times and its still held up. More importantly I love the handles which are easy to hold and very durable. I have used other baskets and the handles snap off or crack. The size, in general, of this basket makes it very efficient to carry around while tossing stuff into it. I think it is a very effective product.

I just wish these would come in colors like tan and brown and red more warm colors, that teal is overrated and overdone. I want classic homey cozy colors and I would buy a bunch of them. Also about 10 years ago we would buy these laundry baskets and they wouldn't I have scratches all over them, they used to be built to last so you wanted to buy them now mine looks 20 years old and I've only had it two months make them with textured plastic the last longer and your reputation will be better like it used to be

Wish it was durable and different colors!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Basket handles are the weak link in this product, we have 4 and only one still has both handles attached. Wish they had just molded the plastic into a handle . The 2 piece approach used fails right at the point where it connects to the basket...given how well the rest of the basket takes the load, it is a waste as without the handle it is just useless.
