My husband liked the simplicity of putting the shelf unit together.  This is our second Sterlite shelf unit and helped to clear up items in our garage.

Purchased this for garage storage/organization. The 5 shelf height is great. It was easy to assemble and helped organize majority of our clutter. My only complaint is how frequently the price fluctuates. I purchased this for $40-$50 and went back to order a second one and the price had jumped up to $90!! Definitely not worth that price when I know for a fact it was cheaper just days earlier.

Great for organization

Great shelves that can be setup and broken down easily.  When breaking down you can store the legs within the shelves for easier packing.  Can hold a lot of weight and are light to move.  Highly recommend for your garage organizing.  I have four of these.

Great for garage organzing.

While this is not the most beautiful shelf available, the price is good (when on sale), it is really large (great for the garage & storage unit), and it holds a lot of stuff.  This is just what we needed to get organized after a move to a house 1/2 as large as our previous house (with less storage).  If you are looking for functionality and not good looks, this is a good buy.

What we needed

This is the second time I've purchased these shelves to organize my garage.  I now own 4 units.  They are extremely easy to assemble with just using a rubber mallet to assure all the shelves are secure.  Very sturdy and hold a lot of items.  I will definitely purchase again if necessary.

Sterilite 5 Shelf Units

I liked almost everything about these shelves; I bought 4 sets. The color (grey) is not conducive to the kitchen for me. I use them in a spare bedroom for part pantry, part general storage. Assembling the posts requires a bit of strength. Teflon spray did not help. Neither did silicone spray. I ended using a short piece of 2x4 and a hammer; perfect! The legs went in like butter. They don't need brute force, but several impacts til they bottom out. I used a tape measure to ensure they were fully engaged.

One of the strongest and most stable shelf units

I made a bed frame out of 2 sets of these and now I have plenty of storage under the bed! I put a twin air mattress on the top, added stanchions in the 4 corners, then put 1.5" dia x 4' wood rods down in each of the corner stanchions for strength to keep the mattress in place. Best most perfect bed I ever had!

Be Creative

This unit goes together real easy. A few  reviewers on Amazon mentioned using a rubber mallet to secure the tubular post when assembling. Don't do that. There's no need. As soon as you put the next shelf onto the post everything locks into place, and the post will no longer wiggle about. It will be totally secured just by adding the next shelf. 

Very sturdy unit. I am using it to germinate seeds. I have grow lights hooked underneath the shelves with S hooks (there are opened  slots in the shelves for ventilation and a S hook fiits perfectly). The best part about this unit,  is thst assembly requires no tools and  brokes down real easy for storage.

MADE IN THE USA, and it's a great unit.

We bought five up these to set up some storage in our basement.  I prefer to get things up off the floor, even in they are in bins.   These shelves are great.  Lightweight for moving to assembly point, sturdy, and easy to assemble.  Very happy with the price, speedy delivery, and quality.

Great Shelving Option

I have bought an absolute TON of shelves for our warehouse.  I think we have around 90 currently.  These specific Sterilite shelves are FAR SUPERIOR to the "black and yellow shelves" and nicer than those grey shelves or the white shelves.  All of those products are long-term trash.  The quality of this is absolutely outstanding.  I wish I would have found these 6 years ago because I would have used only this brand.  The shelves snap together securely (you will want to use a rubber mallet to really make them truly solid because once you tap it in, it's not budging, HOORAY!).  They're easy to assemble; my 15 year old son / employee built 14 shelves in 4 hours.  The actual shelves do not sag or flex, even when my 190 pound husband sat dead in the center of the 2nd shelf while it was being built. The uprights are super solid; if you need STURDY, avoid the Black and yellow because if you bump into it, the upright WILL CRACK!!!! This creates a very dangerous situation.  However this Sterilite brand is hefty as all heck.  I can't even flex an upright.  The rectangle upright pole design is BRILLIANT.  Way, way, WAY superior to the oldschool round pole design.  These are the first shelving units we bought in bulk and had every single unit line-up perfectly, no wobble, no problems, yet they are light enough for me to slide along the ground with ease (I am 130 pound female, only 5'2" tall).  I am so happy with these that I ordered 20, they arrived 2-12-21.  I just ordered 8 more (2-13-21).  My only regret is not finding this sooner.  I cannot sing the praise of this product enough.  PS - If anyone has left a bad review it is because they didn't use a rubber mallet to assemble.  IT would indeed be difficult if you don't do it properly and if you don't mallet it in it will be wonky, but once you get that pole in (just 2 hits of the mallet), it's locked in securely!  5 STARS ALL DAY!!!!!!!!!
