Assembly

Bought a different brand before this one.  Worked badly right out of box.  Dirty first burn and it just got worse.  Had to take it back.  This unit started right up really clean first burn and has worked great.

Excellent Heater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Work perfect just what I needed. This heater heats up very quickly it was easy to put together or (look it up on YouTube). I ordered two they both came in good condition the NEXT DAY. I love that it work by batteries (included) so you don't have to light it and it also come with a pump to help put the kerosene in it. So basically when you receive it all you need is your kerosene and it's ready to go. Only suggestion I have is when you 1st get your heater after putting the kerosene in wait 45 minutes to a hour before cutting it on (only when you 1st get it your heater) that's to let the kerosene soak the wick.

Great Kerosene Heater!

Great heater.

Bought elsewhere but then again there is little variation in new units available the US now. Currently for emergency use only but I have used a similar unit for a winter as primary source of heat when living out of the country as well as for a few months after a flood that damaged a furnace installed in a crawl space until it could be repaired. In both cases worked extremely well but total space was under 1000 sq. I believe the wick size on this is an 8. Checking out miles stair's website is highly  advisable for more information than you ever wanted to know about kerosene heaters, stoves and lamps.

I got this last year to help keep our electric bill down as that we have electric heat.  Although it does a great job keeping the place warm we have had trouble with it.  It would not turn all the way off as it is suppose to, the adjustment knob broke, and despite keeping wick trimmed and such it wanted to smoke and not burn right.  I tried to replace the wick and it was just a pain and couldn't get the wick where it is suppose to be and couldn't get the wick adjustment to work as it suppose to once I got the wick where it was to be.  I have had kerosene heaters and I never had the problems with one as I have had with this one.  Also it has nuts where normally there would be wing nuts and no matter what size wrench or socket being metric or standard there was nothing to fit the nuts.  Had to use a needle nose pliers to get the nuts loose.  I will stick to Dyna-Glo I have never had a problem with them at all.
