LATEST NEWS:

The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority at Walmart. As an essential retailer, Walmart is complying with the new provincial government restrictions across the country. We all have a role in helping reduce the spread of COVID-19 and we want to work constructively with our governments.

Attention Quebec customers - Only essential items are available for purchase in our Quebec stores until January 11. Customers can still shop our full assortment of items by visiting Walmart.ca and using our contactless curbside pickup or delivery to receive their non-essential items. Due to the Quebec government's recent curfew restrictions, all stores will be closing at 7:30 pm until further notice.

A’s to all your Q’s

Our people make the difference

Associates all over Canada are truly showing the Walmart spirit by rising to the challenge in these unprecedented times — and we’re committed to investing in them.

  • We’re hiring 10,000 more store, warehouse, and driver associates nationwide.

  • Associates receive competitive compensation packages, including wages and benefits.

  • All hourly associates earn more than the minimum wage in all provinces.

  • Earlier this year, we accelerated $16 million in bonus payments for hourly associates. Hourly associate bonuses are typically paid out in one payment following the store’s yearly performance.

  • We’re offering multiple enhanced discount days throughout the year where associates can enjoy an added discount on their purchases, on top of their existing regular associate discount.

  • We’re also offering access to live online physician care for all 90,000 associates at no cost so that they can get the advice and care they need.

THANK YOU to all Walmart drivers

This year, more than ever, our drivers have demonstrated the Walmart spirit. They continue to rise to the challenges created by this pandemic. They continue to go above and beyond to support and connect our communities. Our drivers have been on the road together clocking record kilometres (over 100,000 kilometres every day!) and moving record loads to ensure our stores are stocked with the items our customers need right now.

Ways we’ve helped strengthen our communities

Emergency response

So far this year, Walmart Canada has raised and donated $4.2 million for the Canadian Red Cross. The Red Cross continues to provide vital support to Canadians impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside seasonal emergencies including wildfires and floods.

Hunger relief

Since February, Walmart Canada has raised and donated $6.9 million to Food Banks Canada, which will help their network modify their operations to meet increased usage and a record $3.7 million to Breakfast Club of Canada to support school breakfast programs and community needs during these challenging times.

Frontline support

Walmart Canada stores donated care packages containing snacks and essentials to their local hospitals as a small gesture of appreciation for nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers.
